quick to the point MC Club romance novel. The ending was very abrupt. Going to read the future books to see if it gets better.

I started out really enjoying Storm. I thought Madison was a strong chick who overcame a lot and really succeeded in rebuilding her life. I found the relationship between her and J very intriguing. From what they were in the past to how they could potentially reclaim it become again. But then the book just broke down for me. I felt like it rushed over important topics, certain issues weren't completely addressed, and about halfway through the book, it could have ended and I would have been content.

I found myself annoyed by the fact that Madison's mother was referred to a a strong woman. Strength is finding the courage to get out of an abusive relationship, not staying in it.

I felt that things were too easy for Madison. I know the character had been through some seriously bad stuff, but that was all referenced in the past and very little detail was given. Whilst I don't enjoy reading about that type of thing, I found myself unable to get fully involved with the characters.

Did enjoy the reference to places I know such as Coffs Harbour and Brisbane

Liked it!

Developed characters against the backdrop of the MC usual... wars with other clubs, domineering entitled men, independent women who rise against domineering men... all that good stuff.

Storm is one of the lighter MC reads. Readers who dislike the more intense, raw and misogynistic MC reads will likely find an enjoyable story here.

The male dominated club world was there... but it was more background noise. No free-for-all sex with the clubhouse chicks while the women were home knitting or other scenes that glaringly highlight that women have zero power in this world. Violence was minimal... overall the Grit Factor is low.

The H & h had quite a backstory which the author dealt with effectively and most importantly, moved her characters forward. Too often, authors bog down their characters to amp up the angst but these two actually worked to learn from their pasts. They weren't perfect... but they weren't clueless about it either. Secondary characters were introduced that I anticipate seeing again as the series progresses. The epi though... well it was too short to be gratifying and ended the book too abruptly after an intense scene. I guess I liked to be eased down to my HEA. I needed a bit more.

No cliffhanger. There is an HEA and the series will move onto another couple.

So this was about a girl who had run from a life where her father was the leader of the motorcycle club, and also a life where she'd been attacked and had a crazy ex-boyfriend. But when that crazy ex starts killing people, her family thinks she is next, and want to bring her home. The story wasn't bad. Just don't know that I care for how the women are treated in this society, and not sure that I'd read any more of this series. But the writing wasn't bad, so I might give the author another chance if she has a different series or book.

I wanted to love them...

So wanted to live this series. But after reading the first book, I struggled to finish it. The potential is there but I feel like the characters aren’t matured. Not only in their reactions, but in the way they are written. It’s all a bit disjointed.

I think after I take a break, I may come back to read book 2 to see if the author has developed the storyline and the characters a bit more. I am not ready to give up on them.
