As someone who has been married for 14 years and together for almost 20, I absolutely loved reading a novel that shows marriage concerns and very real issues within marriages represented. Marriage is hard. Relationships are hard. And as someone with children, I can say that I related to some of these things a little more than I thought I would.

I am a sucker for a second chance story - especially since my love story in real life is about that. The ups are up and the downs in this story are down. But they were written so wonderfully that you couldn’t help but cheer for them even when they didn’t have a reason to cheer for themselves.

Sometimes tho - like this book accurately portrays - it takes something massive and unexpected to drive your point home. When someone doesn’t take you seriously, sometimes you have to step outside of yourself and show them just how much you meant what you said.

Watching this unravel and then getting to see it put back together was a beautiful thing. As far as second-chance romances go, this one is def in my top 10. I loved it.

This romance book took me by surprise. It gave an in-depth look in marriage and how everything is not always sunshine and lollipops. I think the feelings the main characters feel are something every married person has felt before. We need help, we need attention, but most of all we need to be seen! This book also showed an all too real look at having a problematic in-law. The way Dyl's mom treats his wife and kids is atrocious! I was so proud of Dyl for standing up to up to her.

Realities of marriage

Above all this is about how marriage is hard. It will always ebb and flow. Can you come together when everything is hard and come back stronger?

This book shows a lot of deep topics and is beautifully written. Come meet J and Dyl as they meet, fall in love, struggle, and when they fear breaking they choose to work together to become stronger. It isn't easy nor is it pretty but it is absolutely real.

This book really hits if you are married or have been married because just shows how marriage can be hard.

Dylan and Jeannie's relationship was falling apart and Jeannie felt unappreciated because she's the one doing all the work at home.

Dylan is determined to get her back. I love how both characters were self reflecting and realizing how the other felt. Such a heartfelt book. This book will break your heart and then put it back together. Such an emotional ride but so beautifully written. I really enjoy the side characters too.

Ok, you are going to want to buckle up and keep some tissues close, because this book is going to have you feeling so many emotions!

It was so good - I don’t think I have read such a realistic view of what happens after the HEA! I highly recommend this book.

Dylan and Jeanine had their HEA. Dylan was a professional hockey player and Jeanine loved being the leader of the team’s WAGs.

They felt unbreakable.

Eight years later with three kids and a trade to the Ohio Rusties…cracks are beginning to show. Small things add up to huge problems and Jeanine makes a drastic decision. Can Dylan win her back?

This book is gritty and raw and honest. These characters and their struggles felt so real and authentic - even if you haven’t experienced exactly what is in this book, you are going to connect with their feelings and struggles.

I really connected with Jeanine as she struggled with the mental load of their household and dealing with anxiety and depression. And as much as she was struggling Dylan was also having a hard time and we really see that play out. Dealing with a new town with no friends really hit home for me.

This book wasn’t all emotional! There is also some great banter and one liners - especially with Dylan and his teammates. There is also a memorable scene involving a kitchen table that was super steamy and funny too.

I also loved the Pittsburgh references and the Pittsburghese!

⚠️There is mention of pregnancy loss so I recommend reading the content warning.

Unbreakable is a second chance hockey romance with main characters in their 30s. It is the perfect representation of a marriage in crisis fighting for love. This book will break your heart and put it back together slowly beat by beat.

This is not your typical hockey romance. I absolutely loved the realness and relatability. Dylan is a hockey captain and his wife Jeanine is a stay-at-home mom to their three kids. This navigates having someone who is in the sports world and gone a lot. The toll it takes on a relationship and household. Then the normal ebbs and flows of a relationship and trying to keep all your ducks in a row when things are a bit chaotic. We also get a look into what life would be like if you end that career and your world essentially changes.

I laughed and I cried over these two. Seeing them work through mental struggles and marital issues was so vulnerable. An excellent story to grab if you want to just connect with something that seems so real.

This Author has done it again! This is only my second Dani Galliaro book, and the quality of it is just as good as the previous book I read. This book had some pretty heavy topics but I kind of enjoyed that part of it, as the topics themselves are incredibly important. This story follows Dylan and Jeanine Wendlock as they go through a difficult time for their small family, after moving to a new city, the strain of a new place and issues already taking place on their marriage, leaves this couple on the brink of divorce. They must heal from the past and work hard in the present to save their love and keep their family together, through professional and familial hardships they will do everything they can to keep their world from collapsing.

This story talks about pregnancy loss, family drama, and mental health. I think it was really well done and I think it is incredibly important for more women to see themselves and their hardships in literature. While I am someone who is childless, I feel so deeply for those who have experienced anything depicted in this story, I hope any spouse of someone struggling would step up like Dylan did! 4.5 ⭐️‘s

Thank you to the Author Dani Galliaro for writing this story, and to Happily Booked PR for my ebook copy of “Unbreakable”.

Wow! I was totally blown away by this book! It is definitely in my top 5 of all the books I have read this year. I love a good hockey romance, but this was just so much better. I don't think I have ever related so much to a book, as I did to this one. It literally stirred up every single emotion. Even had me questioning some of my past actions and thoughts. Made me really dig down deep. This is a phenomenal second chance love story. It shows the trials and tribulations of marriage and having children. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I highly recommend giving this book a read!

incredibly thankful to @danigalliaroauthor and @happilybookedpr for this arc

wow. this book was absolutely unreal. i usually don’t read marriage in crisis stories but this was incredible. i felt the pain of Jeanine and Dylan, my heartstrings on a rollercoaster ride for the duration of the book. i don’t want to say too much because there’s truly so much involved but just know i’ll be thinking about this book for a long time.

now there are trigger warnings and this book does grapple with some serious topics so definitely check those out before grabbing your own copy. i loved everything about this, the hockey, the family, the angst, the love. i can’t wait for the rest of this series.
