This is the fourth book in Larrisa Ione's Demonica series. This is a pretty good series. Interesting without being so convoluted it takes forever to read but much more than fluff also. Good mane and secondary characters and the world she's built works well.

My favorite Demonic family is back in this installment of the Demonica series by Larissa Ione. A new brother and an unexpected new sister come forth and the stakes just get higher and higher.

In Ecstasy Unveiled we meet Lore, a seminus demon who has been forced into working as an assassin to protect his little sister Sin, and Idess, an Earth-bound Angel whose mission is to keep a special human safe, even against the hot demon is tempting her into things she hasn’t been allowed to do all her life.

There are so many things I loved about this book and one of them was the Dichotomy that is Lore. He is such a nice guy at heart, even being a demon, and he is stuck in a situation where he is coerced into acting against his wishes, and all that to protect the only sister he has left, who doesn’t even know the sacrifice he is doing for her.

Lore is such an interesting and complex character, he is much more than just a demon and it is a delight to get to know him in this novel.

On the other side we get Idess, another amazing character, who is so much more than what she appears to be. Even though Idess is an angel whose nature and personality is more to daredevil than heaven-bound.

She is the perfect match for Lore in this awesome novel and even though the obstacles are overwhelming and seemingly impossible to get through, Larissa Ione’s mastery in storytelling delivers us a an action filled plot that doesn’t stop for one second.

Lore and idess’s chemistry sparks off the page and their scenes together are so hot and steamy that I kept fire extinguisher on hand to avoid an accident hehe =)

As usual the side stories are just as compelling with some great things happening with Shade, Kynan and Gem. I don’t want to give you any spoilers, so I just leave it at that.

Ecstasy Unveled is the perfect addition to the Demonica series and Larissa Ione has once again proved her writing genious with this exquisite PNR novel. If you haven’t read the Demonica series yet, I really don’t know what’s wrong with you! I just can’t wait for Sin Undone, book #5, which is coming out this august.

Dear Lore,

If I didn't love Annie so much, I would definitely steal you from her and hide you away somewhere she would never find you. Alas, my love for her stops me from abducting you. I know you are upset about this. Try not to be too crushed by this loss.

Besides, I don't think I could handle Shade's jealousy anyway.

Hugs Not Drugs,
Leah

This book has been the most emotional one for me thus far in the Demonica series. Ecstasy Unveiled has pulled my emotions all over the place with all the emotional ups and downs, what I like to call The Emotional Rollercoaster. As a result of the emotional turmoil I suffered while reading this book, it is, ironically, my favorite of the series.

At this point, Lore and Idess are my favorite couple of the Demonica series. Shade is still my favorite of the Sems, with Lore at a very close second, but these two are my favorite couple. I loved the banter between them, the relationship they developed, the sacrifices they made for each other, and I just all-around loved them. Lore, I already liked from Passion Unleashed, despite the fact that he was trying to move in on Gem and wanted Kynan dead. I would be lying if I said I wasn't pissed at him in the beginning of Ecstasy Unveiled when he went after my Ky but I have since gotten over that. Obviously. There is so much more to him than meets the eye and I loved seeing his vulnerable side alongside his fierce side. And I loved that only Idess seemed to be able to calm the rages he would go into. Now Idess, she's definitely the best heroine of the series so far. I loved her right away and she was surprisingly awesome for an angel. And I loved that. A lot of times when you read about angels, they are the insane do-gooder types who do no wrong and refuse to admit they feel lust, but I loved that Idess was sassy, sexy, confident, and did or said whatever she wanted. And when you put these two fantasmic characters together? Well, there isn't words. Suffice it to say that they rocked.

As always, I loved seeing Shade, Wraith, Eidolon, their mates, and the adorable babies. However, I hated what was happening to them because of that bastard Roag and the fucker Rariel. Thank goodness everything is fixed with them and they finally accepted Lore into their family. Oh, and of course I adored seeing my Kynan, even if I did want to strangle him, and Shade, a couple of times. Naturally, I hope to see all of them in the next book, Sin Undone.

Thank fuck Roag and Rariel are destroyed. Hell, add Detharu to that list too. I wish I could have killed them myself for everything they did to Lore, Idess, the Sem brothers, the Sem mates, and the babies. What kind of sick fuck messes with poor, innocent babies? Thank goodness poor Rade wasn't killed.

I liked the introduction of Sin in this book. I'll admit, I didn't care for her too much in the beginning, but I really do like her now and I can't wait to read her book. Also, I loved the intro to her relationship with Conall. Now that he has to hunt her down, it should be interesting to see how their relationship develops in Sin Undone.

Like I've said, this was a fantastic book and I'm glad I read it. On to Sin Undone! I'm sad, though, to see the series coming to an end.

Oh! And, hey, Annie, maybe we can work out some kind of visitation schedule for me to see Lore? Think about it and get back to me.

These are PNR on the erotic side though this one is a little less so because Idess is bound by her vows and trying to get into heaven. It has a lot of family connection and what they feel they owe to family.
Spoiler The end is that both the bad brother of Idess and Lore have combined to take revenge on there family. Both believe that they've been betrayed. Both were pretty bad themselves. At least this was the end of Rogue. It is amazing how much he screws with the brothers even after death and even a brother that never knew him.

There is a lot of the other characters which is nice yet not since Eidolon and Shade are at each other throats. The only thing I didn't really like was Sin as she is a tool. I think this is why I ended up not liking her book much. She acts like a badass but then has no back up. It is hard to like a character that lashes out, is put in her place, and then she still threatens retribution, even as she is being subdued with ease. Reread was pretty smooth and I remembered pretty quickly who the bad guy was, I didn't remember how the characters got together and defeated them. A very good reread.

I liked this book. It falls in line with the other books in the series. It is great to learn more about Lore and Sin, the half human siblings of the Sem brothers. I look forward into learning more about Sin in the next book, [b:Sin Undone|7715664|Sin Undone (Demonica, #5)|Larissa Ione|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41f-stxFi0L._SL75_.jpg|10083611] that comes out in September. I will definitely be adding it to my to-be-read list.

I really felt for Lore. He suffered as most of our heroes have, but his desire to be connected to family really pulled at my heart strings. I wanted him to be accepted by his brothers. Being an assassin just didn't suit his personality and I wanted him to break out of that as fast as he could. Then the risk and unpredictability of his power made his life even lonelier. He had his sister, Sin, but their relationship was swamped with guilt.

Idess was also alone. She had a job to do, but had spent the last thousand or so years of her life pretty much on her own. As she waits for her calling, she must keep herself pure and "good" so pretty much keeps to herself to avoid temptations except when her hunger drives her to feed. She struggles with feeding too. It's not something she is comfortable with.

So we have these two lonely souls, with a big job to do. Unfortunately, that job stands between the two of them. THEN, Idess's job gets an even more complicated twist and trying to stop Lore is going to be a lot harder than she anticipated.

I really enjoyed that we had such two alike personalities coming together. You really want to root for both of them as they have both been alone for so very long. Then just when you think they are going to have their HEA, you see there is another 25% of your book left and you just know something is going to happen. Those last little surprises after you think you have an HEA get me every time. I do a groan and "OMG NO" every time. I should be prepared when reading these by now! Larissa Ione gets me every time.

Of course we have all kinds of other things going on around the Seminus brothers and all their families. We also have Sin causing problems, which doesn't help Lore with his relationship with his brothers. I'd say family plays a HUGE part of this story! I definitely enjoyed Ecstasy Unveiled and can't wait to get into Sin's story. She's going to a tough nut to crack!

It was different having a male narrator for this book, but Paul Boehmer did a good job. It's hard with this series since each book has a different narrator, but I don't think the big change into a male narrator hurt the book at all.

So this was better than the Wraith novel, and I figured that this series was going to start going down hill, but the fact that the new brother and sister are part human makes them different enough that the story changes quite a bit.

I liked Idess, I think shes one of my favorite female characters so far.
