I recommended this book to at least 6 people before I’d even finished it. Rarely have I felt so seen, understood, and cared for by a book and its authors.

There were a lot of great things in this book that will stick with me for a long time such as Human Giver Syndrome and "completing the stress cycle." I think every woman should read this because there is so much cultural conditioning in us that we don't even notice or question. For the time-strapped, there is a helpful "tl;dr" at the end of each chapter which outlines the main points.

Audiobook. I actually lowered this one star because I realize I'm far too generous with my ratings lol. Chapter 1, completing the stress cycle, was actually really interesting and helpful. The thing is, it could've stopped there, 15% of the way into the book, for me. I didn't relate to very much of the rest of the book. If felt like a bunch of unrelated topics they tried to relate to make one book. For that reason, I think people may resonated with parts of the book but it didn't feel cohesive. I found an article that covered chapter 1 that I could reference back to and I probably would've been fine with just that to begin with.
