LOVED TEDDY. Teddy is 5 stars. *chefs kiss*
The writing is great! Just the story was not my cup of tea, didn’t enjoy the premise and i wanted to shake the h for most of the story found her to be unbearably annoying, repetitively annoying.

I saw Consort's Glory  recommended on a subreddit ages ago, and because I hate myself, I recently renewed my Kindle Unlimited subscription, so naturally I decided to check it out.
The writing's not bad and the world-building is halfway decent. I guess my problem is that, at the end of the day, I just didn't care about the characters. Margot is a filler heroine - the reader can imagine herself in Margot's place. Teddy is such an unoriginal hero - he's a combo of the millionaire, fated mates, and elf tropes. Also, I could not get over the fact that he's been waiting for her for 25 year, since the day she was literally born. It's an unhealthy obsession.
In the book's defense, I did stay up until 1:30AM to see them get together, but that's a comment on my lack of self control more than the story's entertainment.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK. It gives me a kinda 'Rhapsodic' by Laura Thalassa vibe (another fav of mine) but different and sweeter. I love a romance where the MMC and FMC are both supernatural in some way. I love a strong, smart FMC, and Margot was no damsel in distress, despite all that she's been through. I really identified with her, especially her sheltered upbringing. I loved seeing how she grew into herself and started to finding her place in the world!

Teddy was just *swoon*, omg I don't even know what to say to do him justice, but his love for Margot and all he does for her just made me melt into a puddle. It's a slow burn (only because of the book length), but damn is the pay off worth it

Theodore & Margot: Beautifully Matched Fated Mates- 5 Stars

There is no truer a statement than "You can't judge a book by its cover". This is definitely the case with this book. I cringe when I think about how I almost missed out on this amazing love story due to the cover. I mean... let's face it, when compared to the more popular "stud-muffin-sexy" covers, this one fails to draw you in. However, having read EMPIRE (I loved it!), I decided to read it, anticipating another great love story.

I wasn't disappointed!

In this novel, we meet Margot, a Healer who has set up a healing house in the Protectorate. A kind soul who has healed many finds herself in dire straits when she discovers that she is dying. The reason being that she has not found her bondmate, a person who she can bond with to offset the damage of the effects of her magic. She has no idea that the Sovereign, Theodore Solbourne (Elvin) is her fated mate and has been waiting for 25 years to be with her. A tragic turn of events forces him to reveal himself sooner than later and Margot (a Witch) has a hard time accepting that an Elf would be her mate as the history between the two species has been horrific.

What I love most about Abigail Kelly's characters is that the Heroes have such love and adoration for their mates its inspiring. It's like they cannot see anyone other than their mate and the would burn the world down for them. It's beautiful.

I have added the rest of Ms. Kelly's books to my TBR pile. If you love paranormal romance, this is the series you should be reading and keeping an eye on!

Happy reading!

Enjoyed this one a lot, with a few minor nitpicks. The world building is great and the characters are fully rounded and likable. Theodore (the new elvish ruler of the Protectorate) has known for 25 years that he has a Consort (soul mate/fated mate) out there, and for the past six months that she is specifically Margot Goode, a powerful Healer witch. His careful plans to meet and woo her in person once his power is solidified go out the window when she is attacked and nearly killed. Margot was raised in witch territory and taught to fear and hide the part of her that isn't witchy. Above all, she was taught to avoid ever being around elves. Now her power is threatening to burn her out well before her time, and she travels outside her homeland in search of a bondmate that can temper her powers and save her life.

The romance was delightful. Theodore is usually the most dangerous person in any room, but with Margot he's the sweetest squishiest marshmallow ever. Margot is clever, powerful, and extremely fucked up because of who she is and how she was raised. I was a bit disappointed not to see proper justice for all the 'mistakes' made by the adults in her life who should have known better.

So the world, the characters, and the romance are great, but the plot ultimately left me a bit wanting. Even the resolution to the bombing left me asking 'was that it?'
