This was...not great. 2.5 at best. Why can’t we have books about ruthless girls who go for the cute boy the meet along the way instead of making up with their exes? Sighhhhh.

This book had been on my TBR for a VERY LONG TIME. As some of you may know, I am a HUGE fan of books by Swoon Reads and I like to collect them. This was one I wasnt able to purchase a copy of BUT my library had a copy so I was able to read it.

Sari and Zev have been together for a bit now, but when Sari finds out that Zev kissed his ex-girlfriend she breaks up with him and decides to go on her winter vacation alone. But when the weather causes her to be stuck with Zev, she slowly learns that it wasnt as clear cut as she thought it was.

I loved this book. I loved getting to know these characters, both Zev and Sari are jewish and that made me SO happy. I have been reading more and more books that have Jewish main characters and make me feel SO happy.

Sari is an artist who feels things deeply, we see that through the entire the book and her feelings are justified. She had this vacation planned for her and her boyfriend but doesn’t want to go with him now that he has kissed his ex. I totally agree with Sari, I really wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere near him either.

Zev is a soft boy who wants to fix this whole mess he made for himself and Sari. He cares about her and wants to make everything okay.

I loved seeing Sari’s determination to make things better, whether or not Zev was involved. She made new friends such as the hot Fitz and even gets a music gig!

I loved the adventure in this book, I loved the friendships that developed. It was really nice to see just how much Zev and Sari cared about each other.

One thing that I think was my favorite was Sari’s grandmother, I have a soft spot for grandmas. My grandma was one of my favorite people, and Sari’s grandma reminds me of my own grandma.

If you’re looking for a heartwarming and fun romance, I really suggest this one.

I have some mixed thoughts on this book, so please stick with me while I try and spew them all out and make them make some sort of sense. This book starts way sooner than I expected it to. I knew the main plot was being stuck in an airport in Florida with an ex who cheated, but we start back in New York before the trip and before the ex is even an ex. So if you plan to start this off pretty quickly and be filled in on the back story, don't, because the book will give you all that before you need to even be confused.

This book did hit pretty close to home as well, having been someone who's been cheated on before. There were a couple times while I was reading this that I had to stop and think to myself that it wasn't my story, I knew it sounded all so familiar, but this is a different story, things might end up differently, don't get so emotional. So I feel like even though we know about the cheating, it still might be a bit of a trigger warning for some people.

I do wish there was more of Sari's trip in Florida, give me more of her grieving, give me more of her being down there, don't rip me off. If we're going to start so far back we might as well get some more fill in there than just like skimming it over quickly to finally make it to the plot of the book. There could have been a lot more things that happened, and the relationship with Fitz (hot NYU guy) could have been a bit more believable.

The friendship in this book is amazing though. There needs to be more representation like this out there with a strong female/female friendship where the girls are there for one another no matter what. There was even hints to other times that both the girls had gone to bat for one another and it just made me love the two of them and their friendship even more.

In the end I did enjoy where things went. I honestly wasn't sure how things would go, and I knew Sari had a lot of stuff to work out on her own. While I do think she figured things out and made decisions a little to rash at times, I do like how everything was wrapped up and the ending that we were given.

Overall this book kept me glued to the pages wanting to know what was going to happen and what Sari was going to do next, and how she was going to deal with the hand she was being dealt. I would suggest this book if you can handle the theme of cheating and want something that's a quick read with very relatable story line.

This book had so much potential to be stretched a bit. I think the concept was cute: being stranded at the airport with an ex-boyfriend and a potential new love interest. My students will eat this book up! Personally, I wish it was a bit longer and maybe have the boyfriend drama not so easily explained. I liked Sari's independence, her gift with music and passion for it. I also love what an amazing best friend she'd chosen for herself: supportive, loving and such a great ear to lend when Sari was upset. This book was cute, but it left me wanting more. I really like this author and will continue to follow her career and read more of her books!

Sari catches her boyfriend Zev kissing his ex-girlfriend on the night before their planned spring break in Florida. She goes on her own and meets Fitz, a handsome college junior. Zev follows her there in an attempt to win her back, but she’s having none of it. When Sari heads home for her dream music gig, her flight gets canceled, and she’s stuck in the airport with Fitz and Zev. Things aren't looking too good for Sari. Will she forgive Zev or will she move on with Fitz?

The plot is a bit contrived, as Sari and Zev obviously have a great connection, and all Sari has to do is let Zev explain himself. Still, this is a cute story, and it’s interesting finding out how things work out for them. I was rooting for them to get back together. The story reminds me a bit of the movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles with bad weather, accommodation troubles, and unwanted company conspiring to prevent Sari from reaching her destination.

A light and funny read.

I received this book in return for an honest review.

Honestly I can only give this one star for how much the “romance” bothered me. She catches her boyfriend kissing his ex at a party. He claimed it wasn’t his fault bla bla bla. The entire time she says she doesn’t want to talk to him and needs space and he won’t give it to her. Keeps showing up where she is and texts her mom even when she asks him not to. It wasn’t cute or romantic at all.

This was a quick easy read. It's YA and it definitely reads like a YA. Sari walks in on her boyfriend of 3 years kissing his ex girlfriend and the story goes from there. We are following Sari so it's all about her. At times she did kind of get on my nerves as did other characters. Had the characters just listened to what the other was saying we wouldn't have had all the back and forth nonsense and drama. What the author portrayed really well in my opinion is the anxiety and the feeling of everything falling apart. I was literally going through the same emotions as Sari while reading this. I mostly felt anger while reading this because the "ex" kept pushing when she wanted/needed space or because her parents weren't listening to her or Sari just refused to listen. Overall I did enjoy this book it just wasn't a new favorite.

This book as cute and quick to read, but maybe a little predictable. I loved Dev and how he was described as nerdy cute. Fitz was awesome too.
