Becky and all her friends and family are up to shenanigans again, this time in Las Vegas. I know that people seem to be getting sick of these books but quite honestly, this one was fabulous. Every time I read one of these books, they put a smile on my face. They just don't get old. Please keep writing them, Ms. Kinsella. I adore Becky and her gang.

Shopaholic to the Rescue is about Becky and her best friend, Suze, dropping everything to search for Becky's dad and Suze's husband Tarquin. They don't go alone due to the whole entire family and friends want to help these two girls as well. Becky is totally out of her element while on this adventure because she's in a motor home, eating at diners in the middle of the desert, and Suze is keeping her distance from Becky during the whole thing. Of course Becky puts on her detective shoes and tries to solve all of the mysteries that have popped up during their wacky ass trip to Las Vegas.

SpoilerNow this book was so funny. Becky not shopping and trying to cure her addiction was hilarious to read about. I'm so happy with how this book ended because she can finally shop again - but just not go bat shit crazy with credit cards again. No more debt for this women.

Minnie was hilarious throughout this book as well. I wish there would be a series about her but I have no idea if it even exists or not. If it does, I would totally read it. If it doesn't, then I will just be sad and sit in a dark corner forever - until it's written of course. More adventures with Minnie and the sheep please.

Suze kept changing and acting crazy. God, she was a huge bitch in the beginning and I had no idea what the hell was her problem. Then the whole "cheating" thing in her marriage just blew my mind. I'm still confused and thinking about it because I just would never have imagined that happening. Not in a million years people. I'm shook.

Then the whole thing when they found Becky's dad and how her mom yelled at him for making her think he was dead. And what was his response? I did say I had a little errand to run. I'm sorry but what..? I was just confused the whole time with that scene and I still can't wrap my head around it.

Overall, I really liked the book. It was a pretty quick read and I have a feeling I would probably reread this series again in a year or two. Just so I can get more Minnie - obviously.

While slightly over the top and outlandish, this was a very different book than the rest of the series.
There was next to no shopping and it wasn’t funny. Instead it was serious and dealt with some heavier subject matters.
It was nice to have a book without Becky lying and being a brat.

The characters seemed to have total personality transplants and those that I previously liked, I found myself annoyed with.

It also loses points for introducing characters in a final instalment of a series and expecting us to care about them.

Looking back at the series, I wish it had stopped with the wedding. If it absolutely had to continue, it should have stopped with the baby.
These last two books were completely unnecessary.
As I said in my review of #7, once it moved to America, the already deteriorating books completely lost their charm. The fact that it must be a huge cash cow for the author becomes embarrassingly transparent.

I’m glad I read it but I’m also glad this series is over.

This books really redeemed the previous one in the series. Whereas the one before left us on an unneeded cliffhanger, this one wraps nicely and in more of the style I am accustomed to. It really seems as though this books was a continuation of the previous and would have been better served as one book.

On the other hand, this books is all I have come to expect of this series and more. When we join our hero Becky, she is on the road, chasing Suz's husband and her dad, who are off into the desert.
This may actually be my favorite book yet in the series, I feel like Becky really grew over the course of these last two books (sorting out why she shopped, her priorities), while still coming out in the end, very much the Shopaholic with her crazy plans (Becky's 11 was awesome). I also love the touch that our bank manager from back in the early books made an important reappearance. :)

Was actually refreshingly not just about Becky going crazy spending money and more about her friendship with Suze and her Dad's mysterious past. A nice change of pace from the typical Shopaholic books with the same kind of humour :)
