¡Acabo de terminar una increíble aventura espacial! Conoce a Saida, una super badass, y su fiel compañero robot, Rodok. Juntos, están en una misión para salvar a un ser querido, y déjenme decirles, ¡es una montaña rusa de principio a fin!
Seguimos la historia en dos planos, el primero es Saida en el pasado viviendo en el Sektor 47 y la segunda es Saida/Rodok en el presente. Los flashbacks de la infancia de Saida son parte que más disfrute. Realmente desarrollan su personaje y su vínculo con Rodok. Pero debo advertirles: estas partes son fuertes. Estamos hablando de violencia, racismo, brutalidad policiaca... pero esta entremezclado con momentos de increíble bondad, resiliencia y amor. Es una lectura dura pero gratificante. Me encanto la diversidad en esta historia.
¿Por qué no le di 5 estrellas? Bueno, aunque disfruté del ritmo de la historia, me encontré preguntándome muchas cosas al final que quedaron sin explicar, como ¿qué pasó con Aveline Gardener?, ¿qué pasa con el emblema o el gran diseño? Siento que tal vez se responderán en el segundo libro, pero creo que podrían haberse explicado en este.
Lo recomiendo mucho si te gustan las historias en el espacio con una historia y política complicadas, acompañado de una maravillosa aventura.

Just finished an incredible space adventure! Meet Saida, the ultimate badass, and her trusty robot companion, Rodok. Together, they're on a wild mission to rescue a loved one, and let me tell you, it's a rollercoaster from start to finish!
We follow the story with two different timelines, one is Saida's childhood in Sektor 47 and the other is Saida/Rodok in the present. They really flesh out her character and her bond with Rodok. But be warned: these parts are heavy, we're talking violence, racism, police brutality... but they are paired with incredible moments of kindness, resilience, and love, especially with her interactions with uncle and Rodok. It's a tough but rewarding read. I loved the diversity in this story!

Why didn’t I gate it 5 stars? Well, even though I enjoyed the pace of the story, I did found myself wondering about quite some things at the end that where left unexplained, like what happened to Aveline Gardener?, what’s up with the emblem or the grand design? It felt that maybe these will be answered in the second book but I feel like they could have been explained on this one.
Highly recommend if you like space with a complicated history and politics, paired with wonderful adventure.

The storyline had me hooked from the get-go, with every twist feeling totally organic. From the very start, we're thrown into the action, and watching Xingyin's journey was an absolute thrill. Her growth as a character felt so authentic, and her motivations felt totally relatable. Though, I must admit, her whole "I'm not pretty but I'm unique" vibe did irk me a bit.
The mythology woven throughout was gorgeous. The vivid descriptions of the world, the magic, the traditions... it's like stepping into a mesmerizing Chinese drama. And when it comes to Romance, I'm usually not one for love triangles, but this one had me intrigued. If you're into that whole friends-to-lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers rollercoaster, then this book is a must-read for you.

Esta historia me enganchó desde el principio. Cada giro en la historia se sintió totalmente natural. Desde el principio, nos sumergimos en la acción, y ver el viaje de Xingyin fue una increíble experiencia. Su crecimiento como personaje se sintió tan auténtico y sus motivaciones totalmente relevantes. Aunque debo admitir que su vibra de "No soy bonita, pero soy única" me canso un poco.
La mitología entrelazada en toda la trama fue un hermoso regalo. Las vívidas descripciones del mundo, la magia, las tradiciones... fue como vivir en un drama chino fascinante. Cuando del romance se trata, normalmente no soy fan de los triángulos amorosos, pero este me mantuvo intrigada. Si te gusta toda esa montaña rusa de amigos a amantes a enemigos a amantes otra vez, este libro es para ti.

All, I'm not exaggerating, All of the Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger fanfics I’ve read, I’ve loved. They just hit those points that make me giggle and not stop thinking about it so hard! and this one didn't disappoint. Inconsistencies. I was so disappointed to find inconsistencies in this story (especially with the portal magic). But hey, overlooking that, the world-building is excellent! The magic system is incredible, the characters are diverse and interesting, and the story of Reven and Eidolon remains a magnificent mystery. There were some very nice moments between Reven and Meren, although most of the time I felt like strangling both of them. I'm excited to read the final book in this series and uncover the full story of the three (Reven, Meren, Eidolon).

Found my new obsession! This book has EVERYTHING - an enchanting world, a wonderful magical system, swoon-worthy romance, and a cast that's diverse! The story itself is so unique, I honestly felt that the story would develop into something predictable and it never did! It kept surprising me until the very last page. Meren and Reven are so beautiful together, I loved how their relationship progressed. I don’t want to say anything else so I don’t spoil it for you.

¡Encontré mi nueva obsesión! Este libro lo tiene TODO: un mundo encantador, un maravilloso sistema mágico, un romance increible y un elenco diverso. La historia en sí es super única, sinceramente pensé que se desarrollaría en algo predecible ¡y nunca lo hizo! Me mantuvo sorprendida hasta la última página. This book started incredibly well!! The world-building around the witches and their magical houses was fascinating, but as the story progressed, it felt a bit too reminiscent of 'Hunger Games' and 'The Selection,' overshadowing the uniqueness of the witches system. It felt like the author was not comfortable with one topic or couldn´t elaborate it further so, she decided to just mix a bunch of different ideas together to fill the void.
Nonetheless, there were some very interesting and intricate details scattered throughout the story and again, the author left them out and never explained or even slightly mentioned them again, leaving me with a lot of questions about the world system.

This story was incredibly uncomfortable to read because it’s a perfect representation of a teenager’s mind and emotional turmoil. It discusses friendship dynamics, the crazy expectations and ideas that you have at that age about friendships, love and social ideals. It also goes into great detail about living with depression. You start the story knowing how it ends and it’s not a pretty ending but it still keeps you hooked the whole way hoping something changes.
If you can get over the main character’s annoying personality (again we are seeing the mind of a confused teenager with a lot of issues), you might be able to find the beauty hidden within this tragedy.

This book stressed me out quite a bit and at the same time, I couldn't put it down. It's worth mentioning that this book is super explicit, touching on themes of trauma, parental abuse (physical and emotional), and eating disorders. If any of these topics may affect you, take steps to protect yourself before reading this book, or even consider if this book is suitable for you. I don't take it lightly to say that it's a very graphic book.
That being said, Jennette did a phenomenal job describing her life and the events that affected her mental and physical wellbeing. I felt like I was reading a friend's diary, watching as they gradually processed traumatic events. This was cathartic. I am deeply moved by how difficult the life of a child actor can be, and my heart goes out to all the people who have gone through similar situations to Jennette's.

No esta de más mencionar que este libro es super explicito, toca temas de trauma, abuso parental (físico y emocional) y trastornos alimenticios. Si alguno de estos temas puede afectarte, toma medidas para protegerte antes de leer este libro, o evalúa si este libro es adecuado para ti. No me tomo a la ligera decir que es un libro muy gráfico.

I breezed through the book and stayed hooked most of the way. Kudos for making the female lead 29 years old instead of the usual 18, it was a refreshing touch. I don’t 100% love the relationship between the FMC and MMC because it drastically changed from hate to love and it left me craving more moments that would allow me to understand how their relationship develops maybe is a kind of mating bond? I don’t know
