HEALING THE RANCHER is a sweet romance about finding love after heartbreak. I loved these main characters and their back stories. The H finds himself injured and struggling with accepting help with that injury. Our h leaves an abusive marriage and tries to build a new life for herself and her son.
I loved the sparks and the banter between these two and the supporting cast of characters were also lovable and enhanced the story.
I took slight issue with a very intense scene towards the end if the boon in which the H and h were joking and laughing within mere minutes of the emotional turmoil that had just taken place. It seemed very unrealistic and odd given the circumstances. There needed to be an addition scene or at least a short passage of time between such a large conflict and such playful banter.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I feel as if I must be missing something here. I don't understand the many glowing reviews for this book. I have read and liked a Leslie North book before, but this book was not very good.
The hero and heroine have 4-5 conversations before deciding they are deeply in love, only 1 of these convos was about anything meaningful. I just had no idea how they fell in love.
I felt like we didn't get to know these characters very well. I literally finished the book 5 minutes ago and I can't remember their names. This book feels like a story summary instead of the actual story and there was no chemistry between the lead characters. Overall, a disappointment.

The Perfect Series Ending!
I've read the entire Cloverleigh Series by this author and this book was a great conclusion!
This was a super sweet Second Chance romance that was a beautiful story of first love, loss, healing, secrets, letting go of shame, and finding closure and personal happiness along the way.
I always love a romance that includes a main character seeing a therapist. So often, the romance genre portrays LOVE as the answer to everything, but so often healing (or at least working towards healing) must come FIRST in order to be ready for love. The therapy in this book felt truthful.
I also appreciated that the relationships in this book (not just the romantic relationship) were complex, sometimes messy, and not easily "fixed". This book was a deep dive into all kinds of relationships without feeling like a heavy or overly complex reading experience. That balance takes a gifted author.
This book had a wonderfully happy ending that was both satisfying, swoon-inducing, and fitting. And make sure to get the bonus epilogue offered at the end of the book in exchange for signing up for the author's newsletter....totally worth it.

This book is a super sweet story of a small town mayor, Beckett, and his new tenant (and small business owner/yoga instructor) Gia. This book has it all: beer guzzling, brother punching, hilarious families, sweet toddler, steamy romance, sibling teasing, laugh-out-loud small town scenes and everything in between!
Gia is such a wonderful female lead. She is complex and has the perfect bland of being sweet, smart, hard working, stubborn and flighty! She is a fierce yoga instructor, but is here for eating fatty macaroni and cheese as well. Her two kids are an perfect addition to this story and bring their own piece of the story instead of merely being prop characters.
Beckett is also just great with his blend of smart, buttoned-up, lawyer vibes and his utterly sweet interactions with his own family as well as Gia and her kids. He is perfectly complex, sometimes idiotic, and always swoony.
I love a romance that can seamlessly blend complex life situations with sweet romance & steam, and not make the entire book feel too heavy. This book is so well done and you will fall in love, sigh, and swoon by the time you read the last page.

Having read a few of the Harris Brothers series I decided to pause and search out this book which
tells the love story of their only sister, Vi. This book was decidedly more steamy than the Harris Bros series. So if you like NC-17 romances this is for you.
The male lead in this book is one year out from a suicide attempt and is sober. This book covers incredibly heavy topics. I felt the author did a very good job of exploring the headspace one is in when they attempt suicide and life after a suicide attempt. There is an ex-girlfriend in the book that is very well-written since she is a good person, and very likable, but is not a good person for the lead to be in a romantic relationship with. That kind of writing is always good, since it is so easy to paint people as all good or all bad.
Similarly, the female lead is a good mix of vulnerable and badass. She is a strong woman, but is also comfortable being emotional. These characters are a wonderfully complex bunch and you get a lot of great story to sink your teeth into.

I love Janet Elizabeth Henderson's romances set in Invertary, Scotland. They are a perfect blend of sweet, funny, swoony, and steamy! This final book in the Sinclair Sister trilogy was no exception! I loved every minute of it. There is something I love so much about a good-natured hero and a slightly cranky, imperfect heroine. This book will make you fall in love with the Agnes and Logan.
I laughed out loud at some hallway antics and the forthcoming ribbing by the townspeople. I loved that the heroin was smart, capable, and independent. There is a bit of a mystery here, which I easily pegged very early on in the book, but that doesn't diminish from the enjoyment of this wonderful story!
And, as always with this author, the bond of women and sisterhood is present in this book. It's not just a vehicle for a woman and a man to find each other. There is family and female friendships that are imperfect and also wonderful.

First, I just couldn't get past the age gap in this romance. A 42yo man and a 25yo woman is just creepy. 17 years is an age gap not of romance novels, but of mid-life crises. I understand that part of the romance was the innocent and sweet heroine, but could she at least have been a sweet and innocent 30 year old?
Second, I knew who the mystery "bad guy" was the moment we are introduced to them. The clues are so obvious that it basically hits you over the head and takes the fun out of the mystery the novel tries to draw out.
Third, the final scenes of this book spiral into the ridiculous. The amount of planning and special tools the bad guy would have to have set into motion to pull off this comic-book-style ending is completely implausible and makes the entire novel seem hokey.

Oh, I loved this book! Not sure if the reviewer who said she stopped reading because the characters were unlikeable understands what an "enemies to lovers romance" is. And let's not forget what a jerk Mr. Darcy is in the first half of "Pride and Prejudice"!
The characters grow and mature and, by the end of the story, change their ways in order to grasp happiness. That's what is great about this book! I loved this sweet story and these complex and wonderful characters!

I wanted to like this book, based on the good reviews, but it's just so trite. I made it less than half way through before giving up. It has zero chemistry between the main characters. This just feels like a sad rip off of "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days", but with far less clever story telling.
I love Penny Reid. I think she is one of the very best writers of Contemporary Romance. But once in a while she steps over the line of "Alpha Male" into "Predatory Male" and this was one of those times. I got a few chapters in this book and had to stop.
The female lead repeatedly and clearly tells the male character "NO" and he repeatedly ignores her and gropes her in her dorm room. This isn't remotely romantic. It's more like assault. I was disgusted and returned the book.
