Very cute!! I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.  I read Mistakes Were Made and it's a little weird iykyk so I don't know what I was expecting but this was very cute indeed.

I love that they're both openly a little weird ❤️ I loooove when one person is obsessed and Phoebe scratched that itch for me with her truly unhinged obsession with Grace!! Like I need my future partner to have posters of me on childhood bedroom walls!

Suffered from my least favorite plot device: miscommunication.  Like how can phoebe think they're in a relationship where she is not allowed to acknowledge the relationship??? Truly insane but yk she was obsessed.

Definitely my favorite bridgerton novel I've read so far!  Ngl tho the characters are so flat 🤧 they always are so I won't complain too much.

THE BAD
Why is Colin so mad all the time??? Is that a straight man thing like wtf? He's always mad and he almost exclusively takes it out on Penelope like can't you tell you're upsetting her! 🤬
I hate that he can't deal with his emotions properly and like is so rough with her when he grabs her arm or yanks her around.  In my head, it's not violent and the they were being dramatic but he was being normal 😌 for my peace.
I don't like that he didn't properly propose to her either ... it's not romantic to marry someone because you want to fuck like wtf.  I think Penelope also felt like that but she's so 😶
Omg miscommunication pisses me off so much 😤 like she thinks he's ashamed of her but no it's jealousy or she thinks he hates her writing but no he's insecure 😡 idk how she was thinking all of that and still married him 🙄 to be fair tho she did say she'd say yes to whoever proposed to her.
I hate that they'll be in a huge intense argument and then start fucking like bro 😒 yall need to TALK!

THE GOOD
I love that Colin realized that it's him that didn't notice her, just like the rest of the ton, instead that she's somehow different and more interesting now.
I love that Colin doesn't even entertain any of the girls that are out and he wants a real partner, like how he said he didn't want a dull marriage 🥰
Also when Colin realized he wants Penelope, he goes full into it like he never is embarrassed or ashamed of wanting her.
Then when she does talk about before and her life as a wallflower he's rightfully ashamed to have never noticed her!
I love that he's always holding her and touching her again making it obvious he's attracted to her and wants her like yesss Penelope you are hot who cares what your mom thinks.
I did not understand his side of the argument about the Lady Whistledown stuff ngl but I love that she was not the one to give up because she's right that's her life's work and if anyone should understand being precious about it it should be Colin that was bitching and moaning about not having a purpose.
He's kinda dumb which is whatever lol but whenever she thought he was being cruel he like wasn't.  When she said he runs off to escape responsibility and he was like is this you proposing as joke, she was like don't be mean 🥺 she's still sensitive when he rudely was like I will never marry Penelope Featherington which I would hold that against him too.  Which is actually crazier because by the end of the carriage ride he's "proposed" to her (I wish he would have actually asked her).
LMAO when he says marrying felicity would be like marrying his sister hyacinth and that's literally what Penelope said when her mom floated that idea to her.

Anyways I just love the idea of Penelopes character (she's a little to meek for me 🙈 but I love a shy girl) and Colin worships her as he should!

This is officially my favorite Emily Henry novel 😍 (I’ve only read book lovers and people you meet on vacation btw) I saw online people hated Miles but I don’t get it 😕 I think people want to perfect man too much like Peter’s character but Miles is a sweet man 😭 he’s actually a nice guy like helping your ex move is too nice almost lmaoo he’s also sensitive like he cried at least twice which honestly I don’t remember last time a male lead has cried in a rom com 🙄 also I don’t think it’s gross or whatever that he smokes weed (honestly I wish he wouldn’t have given it up so fast) yk women can also smoke weed right?  I feel like the way his character changed as Daphne got to know him was soooo perfect 🥹 at first he was Petra’s loser ex which is what Peter fed her but then she realized he’s nice and fun and honestly he’s fun in a small town way not even a loser way!! I liked that Daphne learned to manage her expectations both with the people in her life but also with her own life.  Like sometimes people are late not because they don’t care about you but because they’re just living their lives and things happen!  And you can’t expect everyone around you to be responsible for your feelings like not everyone is your dad!  Also the whole thing with Ashleigh being like you are a “we” person and as soon as you get a new “we” you stop caring about anything besides whoever your partner is.. that’s soooo fucking real! You can’t hold everyone to a standard of prioritizing you and your feelings no matter what but then also not prioritize anyone but your partner.  Ugh I just really loved the book lol

At the beginning, I did not think this would be 5 stars honestly.  Nancy was fucking annoying and I could tell early on that Kitty wasn’t shit.  But omg first of all the second part is so crazy that I could not put it down because I had to see how that train wreck ended.  Florence is a god send I could tell when she talked to Nan about the “workers problem”/“Irish problem” like Nan was soooo self centered and dumb that she needed to meet people that cared about the world lmao. Also I was thinking the whole time that this girl needs out and proud gay friends (as out as you can be in 1880s duh) and at first I thought that Diana’s friends from the club might be who she meets and grows to have some self esteem but like rich, bitchy lesbians are not what she needed duhhhhh she’s from Whitstable like that became relevant at the end because she grew up working class fr!  Also Ralph was such a sweetheart omg I was worried that somehow Nan would become straight at the end and basically make the whole book pointless but that didn’t happen lol.  I wish she would have connected with her family in the end too since they obviously loved her (minus the bitch Alice) but honestly I’m glad it ends with her finally getting closure with Kitty and realizing she ain’t shit!  Also she didn’t deserve Flo until she told kitty to get lost lmaoooo

Aside I loved the Socialist agenda in the book!!!! Like duh how are you going to show how terrible it is to be poor in the 1890s and then be like “then they all died of cholera :( the end” lmaoooo instead it’s like she grew a brain because of her girlfriend

I liked it!  I feel like it relied a lot on miscommunication 👹 I hate miscommunication as a plot device.  Also the way that the daughter, the main reason they were hiding, found out and dealt with it literally off screen 😶‍🌫️ the age difference was kinda intense 🙈 like not only is 21 really fucking young like let’s be so fucking real 😳 also 38 is young I acknowledge but being a mom of like an adult aged child shouldn’t Erin  literally see Cassie as a kid because she sure as fuck seems Parker as a kid 🤯 imo lmaooo Parker was kinda annoying as fuck too like so immature which I know was on purpose so she can like grow but omg Cassie you’re besties with this kid … are you a kid?
I thought the relationship itself was kinda sweet though! 🤗 I think the back and forth of like we shouldn’t but we need too 🥵 got old so fast 🙄 BUT I love that it was like a sweet relationship, not just horny like they each became the others confidant 😍 the ending was kinda anticlimactic because nothing changed except people knew I guess but I like that it wasn’t drama 🥲

This was very sweet!! Ngl I don’t love cooking shows so that whole thing was kinda boring to me 🙈 Dahlia also had issues that were annoying and dumb!!! Like why would you tell London that you don’t want to stay after you’re kicked off to wait for them and that you don’t want them to come to you after either??? To me (and them) bro it just sounds like you don’t really like them 😐 so sorry I don’t believe you when you decide after that actually you are in love with them.  London deserved better 😬 from the beginning, they knew they liked Dahlia (besides the part where they were like ummm I think this might be too complicated after they kissed for the first time at the beach (which actually was understandable … she literally decided to ditch them the second she lost)) and it felt like she was stringing them along when she would avoid them and then be like I need space (which is also understandable because they were also working together at the time so they were constantly around each other) but she refused to ever explain herself 😤 also at the finale when she was like “this is their moment 🤗” and didn’t go talk to them before or after the filming … you are a bitch and it isn’t cute 😶‍🌫️ honestly London was the best part ❤️‍🩹 they were soooo sweet and they obviously liked her sooo much 🥹

Omg I picked this book up from the library today because it was slow at work and omggggg I couldn’t put it down.  Maybe I just love the troupes involved but like it’s perfect 🤩 I love that it’s like about empathy at the end.  It reminds me of the good place. it’s like she finds out the there is no answer to her fears about being a single mom and raising a child alone but at the same time Shep is the answer!  He teaches her to think about others deadass because he’s so selfless (literally to his own detriment 😖) I usually hate slow burns but omg slowly understanding him from her perspective 🥵 I started it thinking like oh is it going to be like he loved her the whole time 🙄 and then I was like ohhh no duh like yeah from her perspective that was her childhood friend she likes having around.  But like then it becomes so fucking obvious he’s been in love with her this entire time 😭 I say this too much but this is actually the perfect man 🤭 I’m sorry but he is the first person that she tells she’s pregnant to that is visibly happy for her 🤯 he was in love with her and he found out she was pregnant with a rando’s baby and he’s happy for her?????? 💔 I’m going to mention Ethan even though he pissed me off for the first 3/4s.  Eve was too soft on Ethan imo she should have told him to fucking grow a pair and tell his girlfriend that he wants to actually be involved in his own child’s life or prepare to pay child support because the ghosting isn’t an option 👹 I think he finally understood that when she told him that Shep was probably going to be living with the baby like either you act like a father or I got a new baby daddy ready 🫨

Ugh I just remembered Shep meeting her after work and Eve hiding him so no one thought he was baby daddy 🫠 imagine how Shep felt 😢 or when he asked if he could do the birthing classes with her and she said no because she wouldn’t pretend he’s the baby daddy 😭 bro wtf the baby daddy is literally a loser (it’s true) you would be lucky to have him as your baby daddy bitch 🤬

Omg how could I forget Willa 😳 fuck that hoe 🙂‍↕️ just kidding … mostly but seriously like how do you think Eve feels about this pregnancy will be so fucking for real.  She’s single 😣 it was a one night stand 😖 then she finds out he has a crazy girlfriend 😫 Willa are you stupid???? She obviously needs her best friend right now and more than you bitch 😶‍🌫️ I understand her trauma but like be honest omg you are being needlessly cruel to your friend 😓

I might as well talk about Eve now.  I think she had a beautiful arc honestly 🥹 she knew she wanted to keep the baby and said I’ll deal with the rest later which I think is fair when you are unexpectedly pregnant 🤰 what she said about fear and shame 😦 she really said this is my life bitch 🫡  like she decided im going to be honest with myself and I want sexy Shep and when Willa told her no because you’re a mess and I love my brother, she said actually I’ve decided I’m not a mess anymore 🥰 and then her life literally got back on track!! Ethan finally figured it out and started helping, Willa talked to her for real about what she’s comfortable with and what she isn’t, and finally she realized that Shep has been really the father that STEPPED UP 🙂‍↕️ and he became step daddy 😍

THE BAD:
This is a mess omg I don’t understand why we need to know everyone’s ethnic makeup to then not even have it come up? Except of course when Ally Morales’s neck was “en fuego”.  Have you no shame?

And another thing I understand enemies to lovers but why was he so fucking mean in the beginning??? He was cruel with his words like omg she’s stronger than me wtf.

They obviously had the hots for each other but arguably they didn’t really talk so how did she know she was in love with him??? She loved him because he was hot and helpful which fair but that’s not super romantic imo.

I understood both of there perspectives honestly.  She had a pride for not getting handout that’s honestly pretty basic.  But then she’s like about to make her dad be worse than homeless (according to them idk anything about state sponsored nursing homes) and she’ll be living in inhospitable conditions than ask let this random rich guy pay for stuff.  At that point, you’re being selfish and stupid.  And then there’s Dominic who is blaming himself for everything bad that has ever happened around him because he was traumatized at 13 which again fair.  But why (I REPEAT) do you need to be so cruel.

The GOOD:
Dominic’s male love interest ark was gold! In the beginning, I was not a fan omg and I did not understand why Ally would allow herself to be disrespected in public like that it was so weird.  But omg when he started getting soft??? At the Jorge’s pizza scene (this was bad !!! The first pizza place was George’s and this is Jorge’s? Cute 🙄) when he was hopeful stop I melted.

Honestly I like that they’re kinda old.  Besides the fact that some of the stuff happening and language being used was giving … generational gap between the author and myself, I love that it was like what would 2 not lame people in their forties be up to.

The good was really good I promise lmaooo most of the bad is maybe kinda specific to me idk so that’s why it’s just a 3.

I don’t think athletes are that famous but otherwise the plot wouldn’t make sense I guess.  Carie didn’t feel like a real person idk how to explain it.  I don’t 100% understand the dynamic because she’s like in love with her brother in law which is literally Danny’s brother but she sees his family like her own family but not him I guess.  Idk it was weird I didn’t really like it
