Again this book was suggested by AI and it was nothing like the bits I asked for….

This book offers a tantalizing blend of elements that, on the surface, seem to promise an engaging read.  I find myself struggling to pinpoint exactly what it was that didn’t resonate with me.

While there were several strong aspects to the story—such as the spice, character development, and narration—there was also a sense of fatigue that crept in as I progressed through the plot.

The book excels in certain areas, particularly in character development and engaging narration, it falters under the weight of its central conflict. There are no glaring flaws, yet no standout moments that truly resonate. It's a solid read for those who enjoy a character-driven narrative, but it may not leave a lasting impression.  It had its merits and was an enjoyable read in many respects, the central conflict ultimately left me wanting more. There’s nothing gravely wrong with the book, but I found myself wishing for a more dynamic resolution or variation in the emotional landscape. It’s a decent read, but perhaps not one that I would rush to recommend.

This wasn't the right fit for me. This book was suggested by an AI, but it didn't align with my preferences that I asked for!
Firstly, I found the plot to be less engaging than I had hoped. It felt disjointed and didn't capture my interest. The plot was predictable and lacked originality, making it hard to stay interested. The storyline lacked the depth and excitement I was looking for, and I couldn't connect with the characters or their journey.
The chemistry between the main characters felt forced and unconvincing. Moreover, the characters were not well-developed, making it difficult to empathize with them or care about their outcomes. The pacing was also uneven, with some parts dragging on too long and others feeling rushed.
The narrator's style didn't resonate with me. I struggled to stay engaged with the narration. The combination of the plot and the narration made it difficult for me to stay invested.
I listened to the audiobook for about 5 hours before deciding to put it down. While I appreciate the effort and creativity that went into writing this book, it simply wasn't my cup of tea. However, I acknowledge that others might find it more enjoyable, and I encourage potential readers to consider a sample before making a decision.

I had high hopes for this audiobook, but unfortunately, it didn't quite meet my expectations. I last listened to second book in this series in 2023 and had since forgotten much of it, which made it challenging for me to get into this new book. As a result, I was unable to finish it.

I managed to get through the first 3 and a half hours of the audiobook, but I found the pacing to be quite slow. The story took a long time to build up, and I struggled to stay engaged with the plot and characters. The slow start made it difficult for me to become invested in the story.

One particular aspect that didn't work for me was the use of an amnesia trope. I generally don't enjoy stories that revolve around characters with memory loss, and this book was no exception. The amnesia trope made it even harder for me to connect with the characters and their experiences.

If you have read and enjoyed the others then you might like this one since it is the end of this series.

"Mated Girl" wraps up the series with a bang, featuring Demi, the fierce and badass heroine, taking the lead and showing everyone who's boss. There's a sprinkle of spice, but nothing too intense—after all, it's aimed at a young adult audience. The ending ties everything up like a neatly wrapped present, providing a satisfying conclusion that leaves no loose ends. The narration is enjoyable and keeps readers hooked throughout.

One of the standout aspects of "Mated Girl" is the strong character development. Demi's evolution from a simple wolf girl to a powerful alpha is nothing short of impressive.   The fast-paced plot and the emotional depth of the characters make for a captivating read. The action-packed storyline is filled with twists and turns that keep you on your toes, and the exciting conclusion is the cherry on top of this literary sundae.

However, not everything is perfect in paradise. Sawyer, the lean male character, starts off strong but seems to lose his mojo as the story progresses. Think of him as a soda that goes flat halfway through. Additionally, while the book is action-packed, some parts feel a bit rushed and could have used more detail. It's like the author was running a marathon and forgot to stop for water breaks. The storyline is engaging, but there are moments where it feels predictable.

Another point of critique is the side characters.  I loved the friendships that she formed along her journey.  While Demi shines bright, some side characters, like Sage, deserved more development. They felt like the background dancers in a music video when they had the potential to be backup singers.  Maybe we will hear their story in future books?

"Mated Girl" is a well-loved installment in its series, known for its engaging plot and strong characters. It's a fast-paced, thrilling read that will leave fans of the series satisfied with its conclusion. If you enjoy young adult fantasy with strong heroines, action-packed stories, and a dash of humor, "Mated Girl" is definitely worth picking up.
Just be prepared for a few bumps along the way.

"Alpha Girl," the third book in Leia Stone's Wolf Girl series, continues Demi's compelling journey to become Alpha. This installment is packed with emotional highs and lows, unexpected twists, and heartfelt moments that keep you engaged throughout.

Demi's character development is a highlight, showcasing her strength and determination. Her journey is both inspiring and relatable, making her a powerful lead. Sawyer, while less prominent in this book, still adds a heartwarming touch with his love for Demi.

The plot is fast-paced, picking up right where the second book left off. Demi faces numerous challenges, and her ability to overcome them is inspiring. However, some parts feel rushed, and the cliffhanger ending leaves you eagerly anticipating the next book.

Despite its flaws, "Alpha Girl" remains an engaging read with lovable characters and emotional depth. If you've followed Demi's journey this far, you'll want to see it through to the end.

  • Demi's impressive character growth and strength.
  • Sawyer's love for Demi adds emotional depth.
  • Fast-paced plot with unexpected twists and a cliffhanger ending.

Just finished the second installment and it picks up right where the last book left us hanging on that cliff! It’s super fast-paced, which I love, and has a bit of spice, but nothing panty wetting —it’s still YA after all. This time around, there’s a lot more action with battle scenes since war’s breaking out, which keeps things exciting.

We’re starting to get some answers to the questions we’ve had, but of course, new ones pop up too. I have to say, I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first book, but the series is still keeping my interest. Plus, the books are short, so I’m definitely sticking around to see what happens next!
This ends with somewhat of a cliffhanger.

Having previously enjoyed a couple of Leia Stone's books, I was decided to try this series based of a recommendation.
It's been a while since I indulged in a shifter story, and this is something I really enjoy listening too.
As a YA novel, the spice level is understandably low, which fits the tone of the story. While there are a few cringe-worthy moments, I suspect that’s due to the YA target audience.
I am usually listening to more adult books with dark, heavy spice!
The book was fast-paced and packed with excitement, holding my interest throughout. I’m eagerly anticipating diving into the rest of the series to see how the story unfolds.
However, I did find the ending frustratingly leaving me with mixed feelings. (this ends on a cliff hanger)
That said, it sparked enough intrigue for me to speculate on the direction future books might take, which adds to the anticipation.
While not without its flaws, it was an enjoyable escape, and I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

This was a hard review to write.

Having been a fan of Carian Cole's work in the past, I was excited to dive into this audiobook. Unfortunately, my experience with this particular title was something of a mixed bag, leaving me torn between my admiration for the author's talents and my frustration with the execution of the story.
This was a very emotional book, with lots of feels, good and bad, there is romance and spice.

The book was very slow for me at the start, which led me to seek out reviews, hoping for insight from other listeners. To my relief, many noted that the story improved considerably as it progressed, prompting me to take a leap of faith and skip ahead at the 30% mark, skipped a few chapters.

Cole is a master at weaving intricate emotional connections between her characters, creating moments that resonate deeply with listeners. However, for me, the book felt overly long, with excessive detail that detracted from the overall experience. I appreciate a well-developed narrative, but there were times I wished for a more concise approach.

While I cannot deny Carian Cole's incredible writing skills and her ability to build emotional depth, this particular audiobook just didn’t resonate with me as I had hoped. It might just be a matter of personal preference, but for those who enjoy lengthy, detailed narratives, this could be a fulfilling listen.

The narration list 2, but it is all Jillian Macie, with a guest appearance of Aidan Snow. Maybe I would have connected with a different style of narration.

I eagerly started this latest installment after enjoying the first four books in the series a few years ago. However, I found myself struggling to connect with the story and characters this time around. After listening for 2.5 hours of the 12-hour audiobook, I decided to mark it as a Did Not Finish (DNF).

While Dianne's writing and world-building remain strong, it seems my tastes have changed, and I no longer resonate with this style. Fans who have consistently enjoyed the series may still find it engaging, but it just didn't capture my interest as it once did. Sometimes our preferences evolve, and that's okay. I encourage others to give it a try if they've enjoyed the previous books

If you’re in the mood for a cozy rom-com that’s sprinkled with dark secrets like chocolate chips in a cookie, this one's your ticket. First off, the duet narration was top-notch. Their chemistry was sizzling, and their timing impeccable – like watching a comedy duo who also happen to be your new favorite couple.

The characters were an absolute delight. Their wit and sarcasm were sharper than a hedgehog in a balloon factory. And the spice level? Let’s just say I had to fan myself a few times. My only complaint is that I was left wanting more plot to balance out the heat, like craving a main course after a spicy appetizer.

Now, the story itself kicked off with a bang – full of mystery and tension. But then the middle part dragged a bit, like waiting for your turn in a game of Monopoly. The pacing was a rollercoaster, with some parts making me want to hit the fast-forward button just a smidge.

The dark undertones were there, but if you’re looking for a deep dive into the abyss, you might be slightly disappointed. It’s more like dipping your toes into a shadowy puddle than plunging into a pitch-black ocean. Both main characters had their skeletons rattling in the closet, and those moments of revelation were compelling, but sometimes it felt like we were only getting a sneak peek through a keyhole.

Overall, this book is like that quirky friend who tells the best jokes but sometimes goes off on tangents. The pacing could have been tighter, and a bit more plot wouldn’t have hurt, but overall, I enjoyed the ride. If you’re in the mood for an audio experience that will tickle your funny bone and warm your heart, with just a hint of darkness, give this one a shot. Just don’t buy into all the online hype – they might have sprinkled a bit too much glitter on this gem.

Final verdict: I do think online platforms have over hyped this book but it is a funny, cozy romp with dark edges – not perfect, but definitely entertaining. And those narrators? Absolute stars
