I'm really glad I'm getting round to finally reading this series. Eragon seems like he's a normal boy turned hero that is in so many other books but I personally feel his portrayal makes him seem different. He was already smart and quick thinking before going on his adventure and I've grown to really like him. I love his relationship with Saphira and dragons definitely remind me of cats now. I also like Murtagh even though I feel like something is going to happen with his storyline. I also really want to read the next one before forgetting everything so hopefully I'll start it in February. I feel like the movie will be a complete let down so I'll be staying away from that. I just really enjoyed reading this book and it's well written. I hope the rest of the series is awesome too.

And to those saying this is a rip off of other authors, I can see the similar storylines woven within. However in the world we live in, it is going to be very hard to find a book that is 100% unique to the thousands of books out there. There will always be a similarity that is found in another book that a person will highlight. Tolkien was very much a father figure to fantasy writing, so not using his tropes and ideas in a fantasy book will be very hard to do since he did it so well. Overall, I think Paolini did well with this series (as far as I've read) it shows to how much the book was sold.

WHY THE CLIFFHANGER?!?!?!?! But great job to V. E. Schwab for making me obsessed over another book series. And also Aulcard Emery. I don't want to have to wait til February for the next one. I also never ever want this series to end. Now onto finding the fanfics... Also a book better than the first is always a great thing!

Boy oh boy oh boy. What an end. This one of my favourite series of all time and it will definitely definitely definitely be reread in the future. This books will be my precious babies. This series gets better and better as you read on so I thoroughly recommend it. Now we wait for the adaptation and prey that it's flipping amazing.

I decided to read this as it's the first CBOTM from Waterstones that actually intrigued me since I have worked there (all the other books are good, just not really my thing). I didn't expect to become attached to the story and to Matty. I definitely didn't expect to feel emotional towards the book but I have. This was such a good book that focused on dark themes such as mental health problems like OCD and how dangerous it can be. Reading a book targeted at 9-12 sounds silly but reading it from an adult point of view, you can easily understand what Matty is going through and how his parents feel too. I also did not know who took Teddy and it was a shock to me. This book does remind me of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time and how I really want to read that again. There's another book called Life In A Fishbowl that's recently come out and I would like to read that too. Overall I think everyone should read this no matter what age and I guarantee you'll want to help Matty through his tough time.

Why is Agatha Christie's writing so addictive? I always speed through her book and get annoyed at how fast I have read them. A really good read and it was not easy to figure it out. I need to get more Poirot books for my collection...

This was indeed a rollercoaster if there ever was one. So many twists and turns. This is the second Poirot book as well as being my second book with Hastings narration and I enjoy him being there. Cinderella was probably my favourite character. A great murder mystery indeed. I hope Hastings is in other books though, it seemed to conclude his life strangely.

This was a fun read in between other books but I thought there would be more mythology from Eastern cultures. There were also some details in the Roman mythology section that weren't 100% accurate but I guess it is only bite-size so small details don't matter too much. I would recommend as a starter for different types of mythology.

This felt like such a refreshing story to read. I loved the heaps of world building involved (although it felt like New York) and the monsters used were extremely interesting. I loved August and Kate's relationship, so glad there wasn't any romance involved. I feel like Kate and Lila would get on really well. It's a shame I'm on holiday when the next book comes out 😔

4.5/5

Wow wow wow wow wow.
I can't believe Victoria did that.

It's very hard not to compare ADSOM to TSS but if I think my preference is due to the fact I read ADSOM first. Each series is equally good but my heart is with Red London.

That being said, this world is incredible. I loved all the monsters and the world created around them. I didn't like Soro at first but I liked how they had no gender. I'm so glad they changed to come to terms with Kate. I still love August and I feel as though Victoria will release a novella continuing the story after the main events. I would like to delve into the other cities so maybe a series of novellas set in them. That would be cool. I love Victoria's work so I can't wait for her next adventure. I shall also read Vicious soon as reading the description it seems to be Professor X and Magneto esque.
