Read this in one sitting last night - couldn't put it down.

As always Anyta Sunday writes the most delicious slow-burn.

Full review to follow.

But again, the drama, Taylor Swift.

I've really enjoyed this series so far and Happy for You is a great addition with a wonderful family to get to know and a possible relationship to fall into.
Mort left his best friend and closest thing to family he had at the worst possible time but he did it for a reason. The person most affected was Felix. He's been in love with Mort for years even though he was his brother's best friend. There's a lot going on behind the scenes with Felix's family. He basically runs the house, looks after his sisters and drives them to all their activities and holds a full time job.
With Mort back in their lives and driving them wherever needed as Felix lost his licence, he has to decide how to act around the man and sort through his feelings of betrayal, love, anger etc.
There's a lot going on for both men with hard home lives and a lot going on with the Rochester family. My heart goes out to both men at the heartbreak they have both experienced but each man takes the steps to try and repair the friendship that they had. Mort also has to work on Felix's self esteem and ensuring he knows his true feelings towards his best friend, and towards Felix. I absolutely adore Felix's sisters, they are fun to have around, especially the twins, and the 16 year old act far older as she gives a lot of support to Felix through the whole book. I'm ambivalent towards his mother as her actions have a big impact on how our characters came into their current situation and there's not a lot of interaction between her and the family.
Loved reading this and the series. Definitely a recommended read.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Talk about a slow burn...JUST KISS ALREADY!! I loved Felix and Mort, the whole family really. I liked the dynamic of the Rochester’s together. This was a very tender and romantic read.

Not as good as the others in the series. More family drama, including a lot that happened before the story starts so it really feels like we're missing a bit. Some serious stuff happened between Mort and his friend Roch (Felix's brother) and the rest of the Rochesters a year ago and we only get bits and pieces of it revealed in the story. I'm still not 100% sure what happened between Mort and Roch, if he said he just admitted he was attracted to Roch or that he was actually in love with him idk. Not as much of a slow burn as previous books because the MCs grew up together, I'm not quite sure when Mort realised he was attracted to Felix, before or after he came on to Roch I couldn't quite figure out.

I thought I would sympathize most with Dolores (Felix and Roch's mother) because I too have had a kidney transplant and struggle with anxiety/depression, but she had the whole Christian epiphany thing on top of it. I didn't have anything like that. Also I wasn't an asshole to people supporting me (at least I hope not).

Favorite quote:
“Now I understand why you are the way you are around Mort.”

“The way I am around Mort?”

“Like he cut out your heart and holds it ransom, and you want it back.”

I sink my hand through my hair. “No, Tiff, that’s not right.”

“It’s not?”

I drop my hand and face her. My voice rumbles. “I don’t want mine back. I want his.”

I love a good drawn-out, slow build-up romance, and Anyta Sunday is amazing at writing them. I loved Mort and his quiet confidence and simultaneous vulnerability, his love for science and passion for teaching, the way he wanted to earn his way back to the Rochesters for something many would say wasn't really his fault. A lot of times, I read about main characters that blame some "evil" side character for past choices and mistakes et voilà, everything is forgiven. Mort seemed to understand that he made a choice and he took responsibility, which made me adore him and root for him for the whole story. He was patient and understanding of Felix's insecurities, but he also showed his own, which made their relationship so much more perfect and intimate. I could write this whole review about why I loved Mort, but I will move on to Felix.

Felix is adorable and has a huge heart, but he is kind of a mess of insecurities and vulnerabilities. One of the things that makes him and Mort great together is that Felix recognizes when Mort is struggling, instead of being constantly supported and saved. I loved that every once in a while, when I was feeling overwhelmed by the raw emotion between Felix and Mort and about to put the book down, Felix would do something ridiculously hilarious and I couldn't help but continue.

I also loved that all the siblings played significant roles and had true personalities in the book. One of my few complaints was that the twins were just lumped together as identical beings. I would have enjoyed a little more characterization with them, because they were my favourite side-characters.
One other concern was Roch's big reveal
Spoilerabout being bisexual. I wasn't quite sure what the purpose was except to add a random roadblock for Felix and Mort. It wasn't unbelievable because of what is revealed about Roch and Mort's old relationship, but it painted the picture in an awkward light, since I personally hate the whole siblings in rivalry over the same person. It was bearable because that isn't how it turned out, but it still made me feel weird

Finally, I did not know what to make of the mom simply because she was not depicted as much. Since I felt like a few of the characters could have been expanded upon, even though I love everyone, a smaller cast of side-characters might have helped me understand them a little better.

Overall, I loved the story and the characters, even though there were many of them. Slow build up is my favourite kind of romance and Anyta Sunday definitely delivered.

"Haven't we danced around this long enough?"
His eyelids shutter. "This?"
"Us."

Happy for You
is the third standalone in Anyta Sunday's Love & Family series. A heartwarming love story set in New Zealand that is guaranteed to leave you with feel good vibes.

"I don't ever again want to miss you like I have missed you. Not for a single second."

Happy for You
tells the slightly complicated love story between Mort and Felix. Mort is Felix's older brother Roch's best friend. Felix has had a hardcore crush on him for as long as he can remember. Slight problem with that crush is that Mort was once in love with Roch in more than a friend way. Mort was also practically part of the family until a year ago when he suddenly disappeared. Now he's back and trying to make amends and reclaim the only people he has ever considered family. Felix's crush never went away and it turns out Mort has felt the same way for a while. Being together won't be easy Mort has to risk the family he just got back and Felix has to get over his insecurities of feeling like a consolation prize for Mort.

"You reaped my undying affection. a plethora of gooey smiles, and all my insecurities. What more could you possibly want?"

I adored the characters in Happy for You, especially Felix. He was cute, dorky, easily flustered , and had a heart of gold for taking the reins and keeping his family up and running. Mort was a fantastic character too with his love of science and devotion to making amends to the Rochester family. I loved how possessive and grumpy he would get when it came to Felix, who was slightly oblivious to it some times. I also loved how he was patient and sensitive to Felix's lack of sexual experience and that he didn't want to rush them.

"I hope we work through this, Felix. I don't want to miss out on the extraordinariness that is us."

Happy for You
is a sweet New Adult contemporary MM romance. A slow burn friends to lovers romance filled with second chances and family drama.
