Great book. Sold mostly on confirmation bias

Utterly fascinating!! Researchers have learned so very much about sleep in the last 20 years. Its amazing. Highly recommend this if you are the least bit curious; and especially if you dont get enough sleep!!

Probably the most important book I ever read!

On that note I will go get my 8 obligatory hours of sleep! zZzZ

A lot of information about sleep. The author is a sleep scientist himself (check also his podcast). New research about the role of dreams is very interesting. The main conclusion: sleep is hugely important both for physical and mental health. You will never miss out on sleep time after reading this book. However, even if the content is fascinating, I somehow couldn't read many pages in one sitting; it's just not that easy to read. That's why I don't give it a full 5.

This book will put you to sleep. But not in a bad way, because after reading this book you will finally understand the importance of sleep on virtually all aspects of life.
In the middle section, I felt it got a bit repetitive, but by the end, I really appreciated all the details and could really understand many factors of sleep.
What surprised me was the fact, that the majority of the book is really about the science and importance of sleeping while I was expecting more of a self-help kind of book with tips for getting better sleep. So if you already know that sleep is important and are just looking for tips on receiving your precious slumber this might not be the best book for you (although there are a few tips on sleeping in the end), for everyone else though I can highly recommend Walker's ode to sleep.

Great information about the importance of getting good sleep everyday! It has major implications for our health and wellbeing. Great Appendix that details the 12 most important takeaways - the #1 most important being Stick to a Sleep Schedule - sleep and wake the same time each day. We should all strive for a solid 8 hours sleep daily!

Style is very much like a text book, but easy to understand and follow.
