I've had this book on my tbr list for about a year now, but I was waiting until I had time to binge through the whole series and I'm so glad I finally got around to it. Going into it, I was a bit intimidated by the size of the book as I wanted a quick read but it wasn't too bad and it was a much faster read than I thought it would be. I loved Naomi’s character and how quick she was to step into a parental role for Way (and how great she was at it). Seeing her slowly doing things for herself and giving up some control was nice to see. It was also so nice to see Way starting to trust others and being her true self while slowly putting down that defensive act. I'm not sure how I felt about Knox - the way he treated Way as his own was heartwarming, but his relationship with Naomi had me forgetting he was supposed to be in his 40s (he acted incredibly immature for his age to the point where I kept thinking he was in his 20s). I know a lot of other reviews I read had thought this book was dragged out and could've been cut down a lot but I honestly kind of liked all the side events that happened (also loved seeing Knox, Lucian, and Nash together). Very excited to start the second book now!!
This book was quite an easy read – I felt like there wasn’t too much happening in terms of plot so it felt more like a comfort read. The first half of the story felt like it was dragged out quite a bit and I started losing interest so I took a bit of a break from it BUT the second half definitely picks up. That being said, my favourite part of the story wasn’t Lina and Nash’s love story, I think I enjoyed seeing all the other characters and their domesticity more because it made the book feel much more homey (honestly reminded me of Friends for some reason). Aside from that I don’t have much to say about this book but I am excited to read the last book in the series about Lucian and Sloane!
I was super excited to finally get my hands on this book and read it all in one sitting the first chance I got. I found the entire collection to be extremely well-written and relatable. There were quite a few moments where I had to pause and put the book down for a second to self-reflect and I honestly felt like Megha was reading me as a person and just laying it all out in the book (for context purposes, I think I ended up tabbing more than half the pages). I think this is a perfect debut book and I definitely think you should all give this a chance if you haven’t yet! While I was reading the book, I could feel how authentic it was and I could tell her heart and soul was poured into all the pieces. I really hope we can see more writing from you in the future because this book was perfection!!
*spoilers* I was very excited to read this book because Lucian has had my heart ever since we were first introduced to him. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing him and Sloane bicker throughout. Again, I love how although this is a story about Sloane and Lucian, we still see quite a bit of Knox, Nash, Lina, Naomi, Stef, and Jonathan – and their stories don’t just end with their corresponding books. While I did really enjoy this read, I kind of wish we saw more of how Hugo was taken down since that was the biggest conflict in the novel – it felt very brushed aside where they skipped the whole confrontation, and he was suddenly just behind bars. I also did enjoy the whole enemies to lover genre BUT again how Luce goes from “I want nothing to do with you” to “we’re together now” in like two pages felt very strange (that being said, I’m not complaining about them finally being together because they’re perfect, but maybe a more gradual relationship would’ve made more sense). Overall, I think the book was amazing, the ending just felt a little rushed.
I tend to reach for romance novels most often, so I was excited to grab a thriller to change things up a little. The writing style did take me a while to get used to because I’m so used to reading writing from American authors, so the language took a bit to get the hang of, but I was instantly hooked! There were so many plot twists and jaw-dropping moments where I had to put the book down for a minute to just wrap my head around the context. There were also a few bits that I thought were obviously predictable, and then I’d read the next sentence and would just be blown away. I loved the contrast between Alis and Josie, they really are polar opposites and it’s interesting to see how the two view their problems so differently. One thing I couldn’t really look past (and reading other reviews, it clearly bothered others too) was how the age gap between Josie and Walter was brushed off – yeah it was mentioned frequently and used to antagonize Walter throughout the book, but by the end of the book it almost felt like it was normalized in a way. After finishing the book, I didn’t know what to think or how to feel. That last chapter had me staring out the window for a good fifteen minutes because I no longer knew what to do with my life. So many unanswered questions, so many plot twists, so many wtf moments – I highly recommend you give this book a shot if you enjoy thrillers and mystery. I haven’t read many thrillers yet, just this one (and Verity if that counts) but I definitely want to get into them because I enjoy the feeling of just constantly being on your toes, so I look forward to reading more of this authors work.
My Rating: 4.5/5

I ate this book up in two sittings because I just wanted to keep reading to see how it ends. First thoughts, I hated how Joanne didn't do much about Chloe speaking to her that way in her own house. That paired with the gaslighting from Richard was a little unbearable. I had so many mixed emotions reading this book. From the beginning of the book, it's very predictable how the book will end. Definitely hated Chloe’s character (and Richard’s) because of how they both treat Joanne. Also hated Joanne's character because she was such a push over and so incredibly gullible. That being said, I will give credit where it's due – I did have a lot of different emotions while reading the book, going from despising Chloe, to feeling for her, to thinking "-oop my prediction was very far off", and then finally going "haha just kidding it was pretty accurate". I haven't read many thrillers, so I still found myself unable to put the book down just because I loved the element of suspense. I'm used to reading romance books where we get an epilogue on how all the characters end up so there's a big part of me that wants to know what the heck happens next. I was debating between whether to rate this a 4 but I felt like a 3.5 was more appropriate just because of how I felt about the characters.
The story follows Beatrice, a woman in her 30s, who is juggling her career as she’s going through a divorce, while trying to maintain custody of her son. Beatrice meets her high school ex-boyfriend who is a new hire at her company, and we see how the two of them rekindle their friendship. I found this book to be an easy and fun read. I loved Beatrice and Jack’s characters so much and reading the scenes with Bash was such a delight! I feel like this would be a perfect beach read because there wasn’t anything heavy going on with the plot as the build-up was very gradual (which I personally enjoy when I want to just turn my brain off after a chaotic week) and it was super light-hearted. I would recommend this book to those who love a quick and easy read.
Also would like to give a big thank you to NetGallery for sending me an ARC!

This book was so cute! It was another super-fast and easy read which I was able to finish in a single sitting. Summer is a boss-girl who doesn’t take shit from anyone while Aiden is surprisingly very un-jock-like and incredibly thoughtful and sweet (where can I find me an Aiden? Asking for a friend of course). Seeing their relationship go from briefly being enemies as they got off on the wrong foot, to slowly forming a friendship, which then blooms into an “I would risk my career for you” relationship, was incredibly heart-warming. As a brown girl, I completely melted when Aiden offered to oil Summer’s hair because she missed the way her mom used to do it. So. Fricken. Sweet. I also loved reading the dynamics of the entire hockey team and how they all have each other’s backs. I loved how the whole team was rooting for Summer and Aiden and how they accepted her and took her in as their own right away. Very excited to read the next book in the series – hoping we get to read about Kian!
Thoughts: The first two books in this series were a breath of fresh air – they were so well-written and had me kicking my feet – giggling the whole time. Naturally, my hopes for this book were pretty damn high and of course Liz Tomforde held up to my expectation (probably even surpassed them). This might be my favourite book in the series so far. Kai and Miller’s chemistry is perfect and even though they’re both so different from one another, they fit together so well – helping one another grow in different ways – Kai with his constant support and thoughtfulness, and Miller helping Kai find the right balance in his life. I haven’t read many single-parent tropes (or anything where the protagonists have a little one) but every interaction that involved Max had my heart melting (and honestly, I think the more I read, the more I was looking forward to scenes that included Max). Also seeing how supportive Kai’s team was and how they all treated Max like their own was so fricken sweet (especially when Max took his first steps). Seeing all the previous characters making a consistent return throughout the book was nice to see because we get a glimpse of how their lives are going (like an extended epilogue of the first two books). Here’s to Kai and Miller (and Max) having every day be a good day from here on out.
Thoughts: I came across this book on Instagram where I saw a short (heartbreaking) passage and immediately added it to my TBR list because apparently, I like emotionally hurting myself. Absolutely no regrets because I could not put this book down from the moment I picked it up. It’s been a good minute since I’ve cried so hard reading a book. I truly felt for Kellan and my heart broke for everything he went through, from having an absent father to having a strangled relationship with his brother. Then I got to Tate’s POV and realized how much responsibility was thrown upon him so unexpectedly, and honestly, he handled it the best he could. I’m glad to see that Kellan was able to see Tate’s efforts despite their rocky relationship. Kellan’s death was one of those situations that was destined to be – Tate and Charlotte carried so much guilt over what they could have done, but as you continue reading the book, you learn that they both went above and beyond for Kellan and that no matter what else they would have tried, Kellan had already made up his mind. I’m glad Kellan was able to get the recognition for his talent. In a way, I almost think he got his “happily ever after” moment too. I would recommend this book, but y’all should also note that a major theme of this book is suicide, so if that’s triggering for you, it may not be the best fit.
Also a random note that I didn’t know where to add above so I’ll write here but the exam room scene was a bit of a WTF moment for me and I found it incredibly weird/unprofessional – I know some people found it steamy, which it was but also kind of gave me the ick because he was still on the clock.
